Using biometric authentication as an alternative to a password (i.e. Use Touch ID, Face ID, etc).

Fans who come to the NFL sign in page may want to set up a biometrics passkey to authenticate their NFL account. Biometric passkeys are a new form of authentication that allows fans to use the unlocking mechanisms of their devices. The device biometric (fingerprint, face recognition, etc.) serves as a secure way to validate a fan’s identity in place of a traditional password.

Biometric passkey set up instructions:

Sign In Password Page

1. Go the NFL account sign in page
2. Enter your email address and click 'Continue'
3. Click the device biometric icon on the NFL account password page
4. Follow your device's instructions to confirm your biometric (fingerprint, face recognition, etc.)
5. Check your email address inbox for a four digit code to validate your email address
6. Enter the four digit code to confirm your email address
7. The NFL site/application you were signing in to will load and you will be able to leverage your biometric for future sign in

 

Account Recovery Page

1. You can get to the Account Recovery Page in the following ways:

1. 1. Your email address is tied to social authentication and we do not have a password or biometric passkey for your account
   2. You attempted to sign in and clicked the 'Forgot Password?' link

2. Click the option to sign in with your device biometric
3. Follow your device's instructions to confirm your biometric (fingerprint, face recognition, etc.)
4. Check your email address inbox for a four digit code to validate your email address
5. Enter the four digit code to confirm your email address
6. The NFL site/application you were signing in to will load and you will be able to leverage your biometric for future sign in

 

Sign Up

1. Go to the NFL account sign up page
2. Click the device biometric icon under 'Password'
3. Follow your device's instructions to confirm your biometric (fingerprint, face recognition, etc.)
4. Complete the sign up form
5. The NFL site/application you signing up for will load and you will be able to leverage your biometric for future sign in
